Overview:

Treasures of Malabar Coast Tour is a cultural tour of Kerala that takes you through some of the unexplored places in North Kerala or famously known as Malabar. Malabar is famous for its mouth-watering cuisines, art forms, tranquil backwaters and pristine beaches. This private North Kerala tour through the Malabar Coast gives you an introduction to this unexplored part of Kerala and the highlight of this tour is a 02 nights cruise sailing along shallow palm-fringed waterways of Malabar where coconuts and cashews are loaded on to dugout canoes, fishermen carefully mend their nets, and children wave excitedly from small villages as you glide slowly past.

Day 01

Cochin

On arrival in Cochin, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Fort Cochin. Stay at Hotel Forte Kochi for 02 nights. In the evening enjoy a private sunset cruise along the harbour.

Day 02

Cochin

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Fort Cochin & Mattancherry in the morning. Visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church, Spice Markets, Chinese Fishing Nets and the local fish market. In the evening, witness Kathakali dance performance, the traditional dance drama of Kerala based on stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. Accompanied by a gong, drums and cymbals, Kathakali performers combine dance and theatre in a ritualistic portrayal of gods and demons.

Day 03

Cochin - Athirapally

This morning drive to Athirappally water falls. Stay at Rainforest resort for the night. Late afternoon trek to the base of Athirappally water falls.

Day 04

Athirapally - Wayanad

After an early breakfast, drive to Wayanad. Stay at Wayanad Wild for 02 nights. Wayanad Wild is a quaint spot amidst the rainforests of Lakkidi in the Western Ghats of Wayanad in Kerala. Majestic landscapes, lush greenery, gurgling streams and the occasional wild encounter surrounds the property located in the heart of the woods.

Day 05

Wayanad

Day at leisure to trek out in the wilderness or take a tour to the nearby Edakkal caves.

Day 06

Wayanad - Tellicherry

After breakfast, you will drive south to the coastal town of Tellicherry. Stay at Ayisha Manzil for 02 nights. Visit the famous mophilah home and enjoy the celebrated north Kerala cuisine of your hostess.

Day 07

Tellicherry

In the morning, enjoy a walk with the host to the local fish markets, spice shops, beedi making units.You could also visit the famous Parasinikkadavu Temple to learn and explore the ritual called `` Theyyam``. In the evening enjoy a cookery lesson with the hostess.

Day 08

Tellicherry - Backwaters

This morning, drive to Nileshwar to board the luxury Lotus Houseboat for a relaxing 02 nights cruise through the backwaters of Malabar. You will board the rice barge in plenty of time for lunch and the afternoon is then spent lazing on board as your ‘houseboat’ meanders through a tranquil network of canals and lakes formed by the rivers that flow down to the Arabian Sea from the hills inland along with the large lakes in the area.

Day 09

Backwaters

Day at leisure cruising on the backwaters of Malabar. The Lotus follows a programme with village visits & other activities. Overnight on board the houseboat.

Day 10

Backwaters - Nileshwar

Late morning, disembark from the houseboat and you will be transferred to your beach resort in Nileshwar. Stay at Neeleshwar Hermitage for 02 nights. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 11

Nileshwar

Day at leisure to relax by the beach or to experience some authentic ayurvedic therapies at the resorts’ aryuveda centre.

Day 12

Kannur Airport Drop

In goodtime, you will be transferred to Kannur International Airport to board your return flight.
